Flying Saucer - 2 - Musings on Scavenging and Beginning

Okay, back to the skies...

Remember the scavenging trip?  My projects often start like that.  I wander around the house, looking for stuff that might lend itself to the form or function of whatever I'm up to.

Ya know, it's no stretch at all to observe that this is not a bad paradigm for any project... physical, intellectual, or even spiritual...

Okay, you have a project, a goal.  Let's pick a spiritual one, like... "I want to be more open to new ideas about prayer".  Why not start off with a purposeful search/scavenging  for attributes or strengths you already have, which might be helpful?  Maybeeeeeeeeeeeeee…
curiosity
a good basic knowledge of my current faith/orientation
a love of people
Review those.  Give yourself credit.  Then develop some ways to apply them.
Maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…
curiosity - Google or research prayer... new ideas... maybe get a book on prayer.
a good basic knowledge - do a thoughtful review of your current prayer patterns/attitudes.
a love of people - ask some friends/family about their ideas/habits with prayer, and listen!

See my point?  Growth starts with inventory and proceeds to action.

Okay, back to the saucers.

There was inventory...

And then I took action...

And I suspect that I'll repeat the process as I progress!

Lyd, does this make you think of your quilting project?
Background... she isn't a quilter, but she needed a quilt for a miniature, so she went and gathered small snips of material here and there from hems or seams or such, and constructed her tiny quilt, and it is perfect!

What's Next in the Skies?

Given the lingering space limitations on the ground...

I think my next project needs to be in the skies, alongside the Put-In-Bay Hot Air Balloon and the Pug Heaven.

I have had some discussions with readers, and here are some of your great suggestions so far.
Including...

a dragon
a vintage rocket
a moon, or a star, or a planet
a vintage/retro alien craft, like a flying saucer

The flying saucer had the most support, but I don't see any reason that all of the above can't be on the Gailtown bucket-list!

So I will come up with some ideas for a Roswell-inspired alien craft.
