I made that trash area without much thought, but...
As you may have heard, therapists sometimes make use of techniques involving the creation of rituals and visualizing. Some examples... writing a letter to oneself about a grief, then burning it (as an affirmation of transcending the sadness)... visualizing pain leaving the body and floating up and away (as an aid to managing the pain)... releasing a helium balloon as a tribute to a lost loved one. These practices are only limited by one's creativity!
The goal is to release negativity and embrace the moment, unencumbered.
So back to the dumpster area... I am having a bit of fun by imagining myself in Gailtown, gathering up items that symbolize day-to-day problems. Paperwork. Unused gym equipment. A shirt with a button that needs sewing on.
You guessed it... into the dumpster they go, if only for a while, if only in my mind.
