I made a pine tree.
Sculpey base.
Trunk is a small natural branch.
Limbs are crumpled paper, painted shades of green, as a matrix for...
Needles (Marjorum leaves... more kitchen spice cabinet foraging) glued to the paper, and...
Cones are peppercorns, glued in place.
It definitely looks better from a couple of feet away, but I think it's cute.
Phots --- the tree, the tree in Gailtown (aka the dining room table), a closeup of a limb and cones.

Landscaping Gailtown Arms
While I'm procrastinating about doing the doors and windows, I'm playing with landscaping.
I added a flowerbed along the sidewalk and put some shrubs in... let's call them Boxwoods and Burning Bushes. The "dirt" is just more painted cardboard, and the bushes are crumpled bits of paper, coated in glue and then dipped/rolled/covered with stuff I foraged in my husband's spice rack --- tarragon leaves (green) and chile pepper flakes (red), and then fixed with hairspray(my go-to finisher for such stuff).
The potted plant at left is a small toothpaste top (what would we do without those??) with brown paint as dirt and a few tiny sprigs of something I found in the yard last summer; saved 'em because I thought they looked like some sort of flowering plant stalks. I added some touches of yellow acrylic, which prompted my husband to wonder why anybody would pot goldenrods... *sigh*
I won't glue all buildings in place until I have doors and windows finished and installed. Neither are the shrubs or... goldenrods... glued in place yet.

Surprise Attack of a Gift Shop!
A sudden inspiration resulted in the appearance of a gift/souvenir shop.
Everything was made according to my usual modus operandi... structure made of cardboard (roof, building), all indoor stuff created in my Paint App, printed, folded, glued, placed...
Photos
Jewelry display case
Case in place in shop
Walls... right, back, left... and floor
Front
Ceiling
Finished shop
Placement in Gailtown

MIA for a bit...
Due to pesky so-called "real life" events, I'll be missing in action for about a week.
Liam... you work on that bat-cave idea!
Mel... I love your greenhouse. Build one in Gailtown!
D... sorry I'm slacking on helping you with the potted orchids.
Luis... thanks for the thoughts.
See y'all soon!

Rental Room Interior Pretty Much Done
Same modus operandi... drawn in Paint App, cut out, folded, glued.
The photos show the more-or-less final interior scene.
A couple of my faves... the ashtray and radio. The tiny cigarettes? They're mechanical pencil leads, painted with white acrylic, and broken into tiny segments.
Next... I need to do the woodwork (interior an exterior)... doors, windows...

Starting Rental Room Interior
Mid-Century Modern, coming up!
Frightful linoleum, blonde table tops, sea-green walls... just a start...
What's next? Danish Modern chairs? Atomic clock? Murano table lamp? Porcelain Harlequin masks? Boomerang shapes? Kidneys?

Ceiling (Gailtown Arms)
Here is the ceiling for the rental room and office (they're side-by-side, so the roofs are attached).
The photos show the process...
First, the current location in Gailtown.
Second, the unit which is being furnished (ceiling to be left unattached for viewing the interior).
Third, the ceiling.
Fourth, ceiling close-up.

Tortilla Tree
I took a break from Gailtown Arms, and tried a new way of making a tree... crumbled Styrofoam, painted green, and glued into a painted tree from natural twigs.
I wasn't really satisfied with it, so I decided to have some fun, and make it into a Tortilla Tree.
I give you... Arbolis tortillensii.

A Quick OVERVIEW (pun intended)
Here's a quick "overview" of Gailtown as of today. In the first photo, the roofs are set aside for view of the interiors. For extensive details and photos of interiors and exteriors, you can go to...

...and see my first few blog notes.
Below - Choctaw Chukka (teepee), art gallery (Galeria Gila, which has miniatures of many of my actual paintings)), Lone Star Cycles (my ol' man loves bicycles), and one of the Gailtown Arms rooms (for rent).

Office Details
The Office...
Added wall décor, etc.
Usual process... draw/develop in Paint App, print, cut out, glue in place. A few more things to add...
Will eventually glue rooms and roof in place, but for now, I like the access to interiors.
